Roles and Responsibilities:
Position: Head of Marketing Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat]

Reporting to: Managing Director / CEO
We are seeking a seasoned, high-impact Head of Marketing to lead our brand strategy, consumer engagement, and market expansion efforts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the unique dynamics within the Indian FMCG sector, with specific expertise in navigating the complexities of the Pan Masala and tobacco industries. You will be responsible for building brand equity, driving distribution growth, and ensuring market dominance in a highly competitive and regulated environment.
Strategic Brand Management: Develop and execute end-to-end marketing strategies that resonate with target consumer segments, strengthening brand positioning and awareness.
Market Insight & Intelligence: Leverage deep industry knowledge to monitor consumer trends, competitor activities, and regulatory shifts within the tobacco and pan masala markets.
Distribution & Trade Marketing: Partner with sales leadership to optimize BTL activities, trade promotions, and visibility at the point of sale (Retailers, Distributors, and Wholesalers).
Regulatory & Compliance Liaison: Ensure all marketing campaigns and product packaging strictly adhere to government guidelines and local regulations regarding tobacco and related products.
Media & Campaign Management: Lead ATL/BTL campaigns, including television, digital, OOH, and rural outreach programs. Manage agency relationships to ensure high ROI on marketing spends.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize market research and sales data to track performance metrics, customer acquisition costs, and market share growth.
Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Education: MBA in Marketing or equivalent from a reputed institute.
Experience: 10–15+ years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 5–7 years in a leadership role within the FMCG, Pan Masala, or Tobacco industries.
Domain Expertise: Proven track record of handling high-volume consumer goods, managing complex supply chain-to-retail marketing cycles, and navigating industry-specific legal constraints.
Skill Set:
Strong analytical skills for budget management and market performance tracking.
Excellent understanding of rural and semi-urban Indian consumer behavior.
Ability to work closely with sales teams to drive volume and distribution targets.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach.
Ability to perform under pressure and manage high-stakes project timelines.
Deeply familiar with the distribution landscape across key markets like Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
